Yes, Spotify is actually a difficult place to find good Italo Disco on. I wish I could continue running the SouthPole Radio Italo Disco station – but sadly, I can’t. But, today we created the Pingo® ItaloMix – a great playlist with our own favourite hits. The playlist is three and a half hour long (!) and focus has been on great hits and good music.

Sadly,Spotify doesn’t have any tracks from Diana Est, Hugh Bullen, Savage, Baby’s Gang, Fake and other cool Italo artists, and some (like Scotch) only have a few nice tunes up. Hopefully, that will change in the future. For now, I hope that the Pingo® ItaloMix will be a nice mix for all of you out there who wants to listen to great quality italo disco!

Clearwater Film Festival 2010

The festival takes place in Clearwater, Florida during September 29 to October 3, 2010.

You can submit your film via the website or via Withoutabox.

You can now buy the complete album “Antarctica” by Pingo® on Last.fm, as downloadable MP3-files. If you don’t have Spotify, this is a great opportunity to listen – free – to the tunes from the “Antarctica” album and then buy the tunes you like. You can also download the FREE MP3 “Manthel”!

“Antarctica” is a clean and neat collection of tunes created by Pingo® during 1999-2009. The really noisy stuff hasn’t been released on this album, and there are some tunes that are more dance-like – not Italo Disco, sadly, but more of a club theme. Most of the songs are trance/techno influenced, but there are some that are more to the synth/hard body type of genre too.

I am working on the next video release as well, so that will be up on YouTube soon – at least before new years, I hope. The old video has approx 40-50 views on YouTube now, which I think is kind of neat, since it hasn’t been advertised or anything, and only been up for 3 weeks.

This is perfect for you who don’t have Spotify. Sadly, the scrobbler-function does not work properly,since there is another band already registered on Last.fm with the same name.

On Last.fm there is also one of the songs released for FREE download.
We will add our videos to Last.fm too in the near future, as well as on the YouTube channel.

Strange might be my favourite here, but I’m sure there’s a song for every mood.

Pingo® "Antarctica"

SouthPole Radio is now a Record Label!

We couldn’t go on with free streaming Italo Disco radio anymore. Costs was one thing (thanks to all of you who contributed over the years!), but competition and time was other factors. Today you can listen to almost any Italo Disco through services like Spotify.

We released our first album “Antarctica”, by Pingo®, exclusivly on Spotify the 28:th of November 2009.
